January Blue

For months I hae been looking forward to January 2008! I knew January was my month at work to do all the little projects that I wanted to do - it's quieter in January and it is a "slow"time in our busy offices!

So what am I doing? Laying on my couch at home with a broken tailbone and a bad attitude! I was taking some candlabras back on Jan 2 and one minute I was walking, the next SECOND I was on my behind on concrete! I ddn't even feel myself falling it happened so fast! Drove myself to the hospital where Dave and Toni came to offer their neverending support.....arghhhh for the broken bone!! As if Dave did not have enough to deal with with the passing away of his grandmother days before (pray for him will you?)

Well, I can conclusively tell you tv is trash - I've seen way too much of it this past few days.....and I can only read so much before I get brain cramps!!

What am I learning from this? Walk softly. Let your friends love you. People care. One small broken bone can hurt from your knees to your shoulders!!

But, I am still looking forward to 2008 - I have great anticipation that God is going to do more amazing things in our lives and the lives of our friends and family! I also thank God for the friends who are in my life and walking with me through another"adventure"!!

God bless you all, and walk CAREFULLY!!

Another Sunday in Idaho....

Well, TASKFORCE performed today and did an awesome job. They caught the vision, and moved forward to minister in Worship service today. They really did well. So many of them had not really performed as a groupyet, and they did very well. Kudos to Toni for a coaching job well done!!

I feel like a ton of weight has been lifted off me since I hired Alyssa -she is forward thinking, self-starting,and a pleasure to work with. Pray she can survive having me as a "boss!"

Hannah is doing well, she's a big girl!  She was born on Arielle Piper's birthday, so that is cool, because Arielle was with me when I found out I was getting another granddaughter.(We were in WA seeing Casey while he was still in the hospital there.)

Pray for the Allred family - they hurt so much. It just seems impossible that Mitch is gone--and if it seems impossible to us, how must it seem to them? Please cover them in prayers every day. They need it, appreciate it, and it helps them a ton

This will be a busy week - Vacation Bible School is this week and we are hoping for the highest number ever to attend. I hope you will agree in prayer and God will touch many children and families this week.

Oops - here's how to check Rachael

I was messed up - Rachael's progress is at Carepages.com     Try that one!

I am at the church finishing the painting from last weekend. It started off well, then I noticed the paint didn't quite match (barely) after I touched up a wall, so had to completely repaint that wall in addition to the one I came to  finish! Some days you can't win!

I tore my kitchen to shreds last night - rearranged it all. Poor Dean went hunting, so if I am not home when he gets home, good luck to him finding anything! I got rid of a lot of stuff though so that's good. Now I need to have a huge garage sale so I won't think I should bring it all back in out of the shed to use it for something!!

Hannah is doing well according to a message on our phone that her daddy left last night - I took off too early this morning to call and see how she is doing today and get her weight and height and all that....

Well, back to the painting, it was a great break though!!

Happy trails to you today!!

Life is good-mostly

So most of you probably don't know that day before yesterday I got to give word to Alyssa Piper that she was invited to be our new office assistant! She is doing a great job and is great to work with! I am pumped!!

Last month Dean and I got to go to South Carolina to watch Elizabeth (NAMB Summer Missionary three years ago) graduate from college - have a whirlwind tour of SC and then got to go to this beautiful town of Madison, Georgia and met Laura (NAMB Summer Missionary two years ago) and her family for a night and morning of touring the historic homes (older than Idaho has been a state). It was a fast trip but full of great memories thanks to Laura and Elizabeth's graciously hospitable parents! We had a great time, just great! We were wishing we could squeeze in a trip to Alabama to see Daniel (NAMB Summer Missionary last year) but time wouldn't allow.        I hear Laura just got back home from Moldova, so that is a great comfort after her rather risky adventures last year!

We have a new granddaughter, Hannah, born Tuesday June 5th, but haven't seen her yet, she lives in WA state, but maybe soon.... Her parents are Danny and Karina, bro is Ben and sis is Alexa. Mommy and daughter will be in the hospital a day or two.

Rachael Montoya's surgery went well and she is doing good - you can check her out at Caregivers.com  (I think it's the name) E-mail me if that's wrong and I will get it for you.

Please pray for my friend, Rita, who lost her beloved husband, Mitch, in October. She is still struggling so badly with this huge loss in her life - please pray for God's peace to overflow her and then for His joy to refill her life.

I have the privilege of going to WA next weekend to see my son's beautiful girlfriend, April,  graduate from college with her Master in Teaching....wow, I am blessed more than anyone when it comes to my kids and their partners--I am one lucky mom!

I am going to try to get back to posting more often - now that I have help in the office it will free up a lot of thinking time!!

Hope you are all well - love ya - Cheryl

Worship

So yesterday I went to Nampa (near Boise for those of you who aren't Idahoans) with 12 members of the Rasmussen extented family- meaning some Rasmussen, some in laws, and some friends of in-laws. Anyway - 12 women ranging from 16 to 57 years old. We went to the Mark Shultz/Big Daddy Weave Concert.

I have been to a few concerts over the years, but to me - this was the best ever. The "stars" didn't perform their music --they lead us to worship the Lord with their music. It was good because there was not the concert craze - sure there were the stand and clap your hands songs, but some of the time people actually sat and just enjoyed the music and hearing the stories BDW and Mark Schultz shared. Everybody sang along, BDW had the words for their songs on a screen behind them...and they worshipped with us. Mark Shultz sang a couple songs, then lead the crowd in "It is well with my soul"  The voices mixed and every range from soprano to bass sang in perfect harmony- and there were no words on the screens - we just sang it. I would say it was the most beautiful rendition I have ever heard, and Mark Shultz didn't perform it - he worshipped with us.

God bent His ear to us- He touched us- He heard us- He smiled.

Oh what a difference we would all make if we lived as we worshiped last night - not performing our duties, but worshipping through them...not so people would be blessed and see our works - but so God would be blessed.

If you have a chance to go see the "Broken & Beautiful" concert, go. If what happened in Nampa happens at every concert in this tour -wow. It will bring a change in your heart. God bless you all.
